Test Taproom Opening To Public October 27th 2017
While construction commences on the full brewing facility and visitor center at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House near Baltimore, Maryland, we’re opening a Test Taproom on site that will be open to the public every Friday to Sunday starting Friday October 27th 2017.
The Test Taproom will be a place to find out more about the Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House as well as enjoy delicious Guinness beer. Beers on tap will be a mix of classic imports from Ireland, the American-brewed Guinness Blonde Lager, and brand new experimental beers brewed on our two barrel pilot system.
Brewers Peter Wiens and Hollie Stephenson have been hard at work for the past month, designing and making beers that catch the essence of the first operational Guinness brewery in the USA in over 60 years. Visitors to the Test Taproom can expect to see three to six on site-brewed experimental beers on any given visit. And because they are being brewed in two barrel batches, they’ll be turning over fast. Even repeat visitors will almost always be able to try something new.
Alongside new beers, we will of course be serving some of the finest pints of Guinness Draught in Maryland, and our bar tenders and the brewery staff will be on hand to answer questions about the brewery and the beers on tap.
The planned opening hours for the Test Taproom are Fridays 3pm-8pm, Saturdays 11am-8pm and Sundays 11am-5pm. Food trucks will often be onsite, serving fine Maryland fare to accompany the excellent beer being poured. A small selection of merchandise and clothing will be available for sale.
Find the Test Taproom at 5001 Washington Blvd, Halethorpe, MD 21227, 10 miles southwest of downtown Baltimore, on Route 1 just off Exit 3 on I-195.
